The U.S. Small Business Administration, or SBA, is in York County to help property owners impacted by the catastrophic flooding of Aug. 31 apply for federal aid.
The federal agency's arrival comes on the heels of Gov. Tom Wolf's announcement that the SBA had approved his request for a disaster declaration in York and Lancaster counties.
SBA disaster assistance allows people and businesses to apply for low-interest loans with favorable conditions. The Small Business Administration is separate from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA. The county still does not know if it will recieve aid from FEMA.
Residents can stop in at the York County Office of Emergency Management facility, 120 Davies Dr., York, PA 17402, for personal help in applying for the financial assistance. The SBA will be in York County through next week, including Saturday.

- Monday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m.
Closing:
- Monday, Oct. 29, at 4 p.m.
Days/hours of operation:
- Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Closed:
- Sunday, Oct. 28
The county, with the help of PEMA, began seeking this declaration immediately following the Aug. 31 storm's devastation that leveled portions of York County and destroyed properties in several municipalities.
The SBA's declaration covers Lancaster and York counties and the contiguous counties of Adams, Berks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin and Lebanon in Pennsylvania as well as Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil and Harford in Maryland.
Residents can also apply online for assistance on the SBA's website. The application process is open until Dec. 17.
