Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 hospitality recovery grant program launched Monday, March 15. Hospitality industry businesses can apply here.
The COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program, or CHIRP, will allocate $145 million in funding assistance to hospitality industry businesses throughout Pennsylvania adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Businesses have until 5 p.m. on March 31 to apply.
York County is expected to receive a little more than $5 million, an amount based on population proportion. York County Economic Alliance, the county’s certified economic development organization, will be facilitating this grant money.
Businesses seeking these grants can receive between $5,000 and $50,000. Applicants have to have opened by February 2020 and demonstrate adverse economic impact from COVID-19 and/or the business restrictions resulting from the pandemic.
The Alliance estimates roughly 1,000 businesses in York County could be eligible for this relief program.
