The York County Commissioners have contracted with CivicPlus to create a new website for York County Government. The project, which will overhaul the county’s current site at old.yorkcountypa.gov, will soon get underway with an indeterminate public launch date.

The Commissioners also approved a contract with SCYTL, a Tampa, Florida, company that will offer election report management and online voting results for the county through March 2026.

CivicPlus, based in Manhattan, Kansas, builds, designs and hosts government websites exclusively. The company’s work with more than half-a-dozen Pennsylvania counties stood out to York County because of its familiarity with the digital needs of county governments in Pennsylvania.

The Commissioners’ contract with SCYTL will make it easier for the county to post election results on the night of primary and general elections. Like CivicPlus, SCYTL’s work with other Pennsylvania counties was a major factor in determining its value to York County and the residents who want timely election results on the county’s site.

“Both the county’s website and election reporting processes are in need of improvement, and we feel these companies will help us deliver important information to our residents in a more user-friendly and timely manner,” said York County President Commissioner Julie Wheeler.

The contract with CivicPlus will cost $59,779 for the first year, with half of that being covered by the county’s Records Improvement Committee. SCYTL’s contract will cost the county $64,569 over a five year period, paid in full by the Records Improvement Committee.
