SUPPORT GROUPS

When individuals struggle with problems, it may be helpful to get involved with a local support group.  A support group consists of people who share similar experiences and concerns.  The group meets regularly to provide emotional help, share coping strategies, and offer encouragement for one another.  Groups are usually non-profit and non-professional.  The common characteristics in these groups is listening to and accepting others' experiences, providing sympathetic understanding and establishing a social network.
