The Transportation Division’s primary responsibility is the transportation of prisoners to and from institutions and facilities to support the needs of the York County Courts of Common Pleas.

The division also maintains a supporting role entertaining transport requests from Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation, the District Attorney and the Office of Children, Youth and Families.

The Transportation Division travels in excess of 150,000 miles a year in fulfilling its mission requirements. This encompasses transporting more than 1600 individuals to and from out of county destinations and transporting more than 5000 persons from local facilities to and from court appearances, and coordinating over 150 out of state extraditions.
